This Privacy Policy explains how SD Enterprises ("we", "us"), operator of LawyerDhundo (lawyerdhundo.com), collects, uses and protects your personal data. It is published in accordance with Indian law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).
1. Data we collect
Visitors: browsing our directory requires no account. We collect only standard technical logs (IP address, browser type) needed to operate and secure the site.
Clients: when you create an account we collect your name, email address, and optionally your phone number and city.
Advocates: when you apply for listing we collect your name, contact details, Bar Council enrolment number and council, city, practice details, and the documents you upload: Bar Council enrolment certificate (Sanad), PAN card, COP/AIBE certificate and photograph.
2. How we use your data
We use personal data to: create and manage your account; verify advocate credentials before listing (uploaded documents are processed by an automated AI verification system that cross-checks them against your application); display verified advocate profiles publicly; send transactional emails such as login codes and application updates; respond to support requests; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
3. Public information
If you are listed as an advocate, your professional profile (name, city, enrolment number, Bar Council, experience, practice areas, languages, background and photo, if provided) is publicly visible. Your uploaded documents, email and phone number are not published.
4. Storage and third-party processors
We use these service providers: Supabase (database, authentication and document storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery) and Anthropic (AI document verification). These processors handle data on our instructions and under their own security safeguards. Data may be processed on servers located outside India.
5. Retention
We retain account and profile data while your account is active. Verification documents are retained as long as your listing is live, and for a reasonable period after rejection or deletion to prevent fraud and re-submission abuse, after which they are deleted.
6. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, and may withdraw consent, by writing to support@lawyerdhundo.com. We respond to grievances within the timelines prescribed by law. If unsatisfied, you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.
7. Cookies
We use only essential cookies/local storage needed for login sessions. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time; the "last updated" date above will change accordingly. Material changes will be notified on the site or by email.
